EDM Group was established with the express intent of leading the market for the provision of electronic document management services and solutions. It did this through the acquisition of three well established providers: AMI-The Advance Group, Storwave Limited and Micro-Image Business Solutions Ltd (MBS). The purpose of those acquisitions was to acquire both the technologies and the service provision capacity to meet the document and records management needs of medium to large scale organisations in the public and commercial sectors. To provide specialist expertise in the field of workflow solutions and Business Process Management, EDM Group also acquired Business Designs Ltd in 2007. On 30th September 2011 EDM Group merged with Sala International, a specialist Records Management services supplier, in a deal arranged and backed by LDC with the financial support of Lloyds Bank. The merged company will trade as EDM Group Limited.
